Celebrate Your Eye Care Team: Ophthalmic Medical Technicians’ Week, Nov. 3-9, 2013

The Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology (JCAHPO®) and the Association of Technical Personnel in Ophthalmology (ATPO®) have joined forces in designating November 3-9, 2013, Ophthalmic Medical Technicians’ Week. OMT week is intended to celebrate eye care careers and the dedication of ophthalmic personnel (assistants, technicians, technologists, and other eye-related health professionals) who work in the field of ophthalmology.

JCAPHO and ATPO have developed a toolkit containing helpful ideas and suggestions and a poster to assist you in celebrating this special week. The list of ideas is not intended to be comprehensive; in fact, we encourage you to come up your own ideas for events and promotions that will call attention to your profession and the opportunities associated with it. We would love to hear about your celebrations!

Six reasons OMIC is the best choice for ophthalmologists in America.

Best at defending claims.

An ophthalmologist pays nearly half a million dollars in premiums over the course of a career. Premium paid is directly related to a carrier’s claims experience. OMIC has a higher win rate taking tough cases to trial, full consent to settle (no hammer) clause, and access to the best experts. OMIC pays 25% less per claim than other carriers. As a result, OMIC has consistently maintained lower base rates than multispecialty carriers in the U.S.
