Risk Management

All OMIC-sponsored risk management activities (live seminar, audio recording, online course) enable policyholders to obtain a 5% or 10% premium discount, which is applied upon renewal. Only one risk management credit is applied per policy year. Subject to discretion of OMIC, credit for a second event attended in the same policy year may be applied for the following policy year.

OMIC policyholders who are members of state and subspecialty ophthalmic societies with an OMIC educational alliance currently earn an 10% risk management discount when they complete an approved OMIC risk management event. OMIC has issued more than $16 Million in credits to members of these Educational Alliances (also referred to as cooperative ventures).

For some societies, an approved event is any OMIC risk management activity, including live seminars, audioconferences or webinars, PDF or online courses. Certain societies require attendance at a live OMIC-society event, which is usually conducted during the annual meeting of the society. Follow the link below to reach a page for each OMIC Partner which describes the terms and conditions for each educational alliance.
