Policyholder Services

Will OMIC cover my peer review and utilization review activities?

Yes – if they are conducted on behalf of a state licensed health care facility, such as a hospital or surgery center, on behalf of a professional society, or on behalf of an OMIC-insured entity with which you are affiliated.  Health insurance companies and managed care companies that you contract with or are employed by generally should include you as an additional insured under their own policies for peer review and utilization review services you render for them.  Or, you may purchase errors and omissions coverage from NAS Insurance Services to cover those activities. Contact Dana Pollard Carulli at (877) 808-6277 or dcarulli@nasinsurance.com.

Six reasons OMIC is the best choice for ophthalmologists in America.

Best at defending claims.

An ophthalmologist pays nearly half a million dollars in premiums over the course of a career. Premium paid is directly related to a carrier’s claims experience. OMIC has a higher win rate taking tough cases to trial, full consent to settle (no hammer) clause, and access to the best experts. OMIC pays 25% less per claim than other carriers. As a result, OMIC has consistently maintained lower base rates than multispecialty carriers in the U.S.
