Does OMIC offer a risk management discount to physicians who use electronic medical records (EMR)?

OMIC offers risk management discounts only for the physician’s participation in an OMIC-sponsored risk management course or seminar. While electronic medical records may help improve documentation, we have determined that use of EMR does not warrant a discount at this time. National standards have not yet been developed for electronic medical records. Therefore, EMR systems may vary significantly in quality from one company to another. We believe it would be inappropriate to sponsor or recommend one particular system over another, not only because of anti-trust concerns, but also because OMIC could not ensure the long-term viability of any company.
