Hurricane Ian Alert
The thoughts and prayers of everyone at OMIC are with all Hurricane Ian victims and their caregivers. We are especially concerned for our insureds who were directly impacted by the devastation in the affected areas along the gulf coast of Florida and the other areas that have experienced damage and destruction.
OMIC insureds who have been directly affected by a natural disaster or terrorist incident should contact their Underwriting representative as soon as is reasonable. OMIC’s staff can help determine the specific coverage needs of the member-insured and assist in providing immediate solutions. As a general rule, OMIC will not process any cancellations for non-payment and will extend due dates and other normal policy transactions as necessary for any member-insureds directly affected by this type of tragedy.
In the case of a practice that was destroyed or rendered inoperable as the result of a natural disaster or terrorist incident, policyholders directly affected may put their policies in suspended status until things are sorted out. Insureds who have placed their policy in suspended status are covered for claims resulting from practice activities that were performed prior to the date of policy suspension. Please contact OMIC at (800) 562-6642, ext. 639 for assistance in determining your immediate coverage situation.
