Ann Acers-Warn MD

Ann Acers-Warn MD – Board Member

Dr. Ann Acers Warn, born in Lawton, and raised in Oklahoma, attended Baylor University and received her medical degree from the University of Kanas School of Medicine, Kansas City, Kansas.  She completed her medical training at the Department of Ophthalmology and the Dean McGee Eye Institute, University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She also, holds an MBA from Cameron University, Lawton, Oklahoma.

As a resident she impressed the Dean McGee Eye Institute faculty with her knowledge and clinical skills, but, more importantly, with her strong sense of personal responsibility for patient care. The eye institute considers it extremely fortuitous that Dr. Warn was excited to return to Lawton to live and to direct the establishment of the Dean McGee first satellite facility opened in 1994.

Dr. Warn is a Clinical Associate Professor at the Department of Ophthalmology and Department of Family Preventative Medicine, University of Oklahoma, College of Medicine. She also is a Clinical Adjunct Assistant Professor at the Department of Rural Health, Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine.

She serves on the Oklahoma Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision (appointed by Gov. Mary Fallin) and is the immediate past president.  She has also served on the Oklahoma State Board of Health (appointed by Gov. Frank Keating) and was its president 2004-2005. In addition, she has served  on the American Academy of Ophthalmology Board of Trustees in the role of Vice Chair, and then Chair, of the Council. She is currently on the Board of Directors for OMIC and  for the American Board of Ophthalmology.  Dr. Warn has received many awards in her career, such as, the Distinguished Alumni Award from the Cameron University Alumni Association, as well as the Achievement Award, Senior Achievement Award and Secretariat Award from the American Academy of Ophthalmology.

Dr. Warn is heavily involved in community leadership and activities. She also has contributed to several publications and delivered talks on a wide range of health issues related to ophthalmology.
