NOTES From New Orleans: New Consent Documents, Retina Patient Education Videos, Bruce Spivey Fund, and More

A BIG EASY thank you to everyone for a great AAO 2013 meeting in New Orleans. Attendance at the OMIC Exhibit and seminars was the highest in five years and we hope you all enjoyed our events. See below for some notes from the meeting:

First Annual Bruce E. Spivey, MD Lecture

A highlight of the the Bruce E. Spivey, MD, Fund for Risk Management Studies fund this year was the “Bruce E. Spivey, MD, Lecture in Risk Management and Patient Safety,” an annual lecture at the Academy’s annual meeting co-sponsored by OMIC and Academy Foundation’s H. Dunbar Hoskins Jr., MD, Center for Quality Eye Care. . Susan H. Day, MD, a pediatric ophthalmologist in San Francisco, CA, was this year’s guest lecturer.
