Underwriting Statistics

OMIC specializes in underwriting professional liability insurance for ophthalmologists in the United States. OMIC now provides this coverage to more than 4,000 Academy members. This includes an increasing number of insured ophthalmic groups and networks, which now make up 56% of OMIC's overall market share.

Policyholder Growth

Most OMIC insureds choose to carry $1million/$3million liability limits.

Liability Limits

The vast majority of OMIC's insureds carry a full surgical (surgery class 3) policy allowing them the full range of ophthalmic surgical procedures.

Scope of Practice

OMIC currently operates in all states (coverage in WI is limited to eye banks) and has a 40% or greater market share in 28 states.
